Wheaten Rescue

PuppyMill_education

The national clubs of both scwtac.com andscwtca.org have a rescue and rehoming section.

We support and encourage anyone to include these organizations in their search for a new family member of the canine variety.

Our club is also supporting WIN – Wheatens In Need. This is a U.S.-based breed-specific rescue group that helps rescue, rehome and rehabilitate soft coated wheaten terriers. Our club’s own Laurel Brunke has taken on the role of WIN representative for the Western provinces.

Please visit wheatensinneed.org

Adoption can take a while as dogs are placed where they are best suited. If you are interested you should begin the process by filling out a WIN adoption form.

Wheatens in Need (503c-3) non-profit organization is funded entirely through private donations and adoption fees.

Also – Please consider volunteering. Details and an application can be found here.

    1. Hi Joanne, Yes, there is. The national organization scwtac.com will assist in re-homing and also WIN (Wheatens in Need). Our local BC contact is club member Laurel Brunke and you will be directed to her through the WIN site at http://www.wheatensinneed.org. Are you looking for a new pup?

    1. Hi Linda, Our annual wheaten picnic is tomorrow in Coquitlam. Hope you can make it and do some networking to find your next wheaten. I have forwarded your request to Laurel Brunke who is the local rep for WIN (Wheatens in Need). There will be a number of reputable breeders attending the picnic – we all adhere to the code of ethics set out by the national club :)

  2. Hi,
I am looking to adopt and or foster a SCWT. I live in Vancouver BC. I have always had Wheaten Terrier’s and I would like to always have them. I have a very large fenced in yard and there is always someone home to help him or her. I am also open to adopting a senior dog. I have an amazing vet That is block away and a groomer that My the dogs never want to leave. Please let me know what I can do to be on a list. My daughter is a commercial pilot and flies all over BC so we can pick one up that is in another area.

    Thanks so much,

    1. Hi Cris, Our annual wheaten picnic is tomorrow in Coquitlam. Hope you can make it and do some networking to find your next wheaten. I have forwarded your request to Laurel Brunke who is the local rep for WIN (Wheatens in Need). I am one of the local show breeders of wheatens but am at least two years away from another litter – however there will be other reputable breeders attending the picnic.
